Casino payment methods in Canada: which work in 2026, what each costs, and how long it takes

Methods that work from Canada

Interac e-Transfer. Runs from your chequing account. Interac says your bank sets the limit, "typically $2,000 to $3,000 per transaction for consumers", and the fee.Source [1] At offshore casinos a processor such as Gigadat receives it. MuchBetter. A phone wallet with a Canada section in its help centre. Paying a casino is free; topping up by e-Transfer costs 4.5%, and a payout to your bank $5.Source [2] Details on MuchBetter casinos.

Skrill. Has a fee page for Canada: top-ups by Interac or bank transfer at 0.00%, cards at 2.50%, and withdrawals to Interac at 2.50% with a minimum of EUR 3.50.Source [3] An account left unused for 6 months pays EUR 5 a month. Two casinos we rate, Yukon Gold and Zodiac, pay out to Skrill.

Neteller. Its footer lists registration with FINTRAC and with Revenu Québec.Source [11] Its fee page is not country-specific and has no Interac line: most top-ups cost 2.5%, a bank withdrawal USD 10, and an unused account USD 5 a month after 6 months.Source [4]

paysafecard. A prepaid voucher sold at stores such as Canada Post and Esso, up to $400 per payment.Source [5] It pays in only; plan another method for payouts.

Credit cards. Accepted at most cashiers, but billed as a cash advance: Capital One's agreement treats "bets, lottery tickets, gambling or casino gaming chips" that way, with interest from the transaction date.Source [9] See the card page.

PayPal. Taken only by operators PayPal has approved, which in practice means licensed provincial sites; none of the 12 casinos in our tables lists it. Why, and where PayPal does work.

Methods that changed or stopped

Payz, formerly ecoPayz. Its sign-up form lists 165 countries of residence, and Canada isn't one of them.Source [6] Some casinos still show the logo; here's what that means.

iDebit. Its website domain did not resolve on September 26, 2026, and its last working pages date from January 2024.Source [8] Two casinos still list it. What is known.

AstroPay. Canada appears in the country selector, but there are no Canadian terms: accounts from such countries fall under "AstroPay Rest of the World", run from the Isle of Man.Source [10] Fees are shown in the app rather than published. Only one casino we read, PlayOJO, lists it for Canada, so we don't rank it yet.

Choosing by what matters to you

• Lowest cost: Interac e-Transfer, if your bank includes transfers in your plan.
• Casino off your bank statement: a wallet — MuchBetter, Skrill or Neteller — at the price of its top-up and payout fees.
• No bank account involved: paysafecard for deposits, then a wallet or bank for payouts.
• Fastest payout on paper: the casino's pending period matters more than the method; at BitStarz the terms set a one-hour target.

My verdict

Start with Interac e-Transfer, because the limit and the fee are your own bank's and nothing extra is needed. If you want a wallet in between, MuchBetter and Skrill both serve Canada; compare their top-up fees before choosing, since 4.5% and 0% are very different. Leave Payz, Instadebit and iDebit off the list, whatever the casino's logo strip still shows.
